Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet, The brand which turned down James bond. Yes, you read this correctly! Audemars Piguet is the most iconic watch-making brand which was founded in 1875 by Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet in a small village of Switzerland. Any aspiring billionaire who is trying to gain a broad knowledge about the lifestyle led by the elites and also the materials that are possessed by them should know about Audemars Piguet. Unlike the many others, it did not produce a lot of variants due to its exclusivity and grand pricing. In 2016 the brand revenue was around $900.00 million! The current lineup of their watches is Royal Oak/Concept/Offshore, Millenary, Code 11.59, and Jules Audemars. The brand is best known for its momentous achievement in the making of the Royal Oak series. It’s hard to believe that this iconic fortune maker series for Audemars Piguet was designed in a single day on the eve of a watchmaking fair in Europe! The watch was made from White gold. The current octagonal shape dial was introduced by then with this Royal Oak series. Purchase of an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was by a royal giving a literal meaning to it. The first loyal customer of a Royal was none other than the Shah of Iran who was well known for his possessions of Luxurious materials from cars to beautiful women. The brand CEO says they are unwilling to compromise the exclusivity for the sake of the advertising which is why they turned down the deal with the James bond movies.  However, the brand sold only 1000 pieces of timepieces in its first three years which would spell the demise of the brand. It took a long time for the customer to come around to the way of thinking of Audemars Piguet. The Royal Oak went on to be a best-seller and there was a time when people used to get scared of wearing the watch because it used to get snatched up by anyone who could get their hands on one.
